Taraclia!!

Olesea is originally from Taraclia. So we had a trip to this city or I would rather say village on the south of Moldova. We enter to Taraclia.

Now you see something like monument. There's written "Welcome" in 3 languages: Russian, Romanian and Bulgarian. Why Bulgarian? In Taraclia live many Bulgarians.

Here you see the lyceum Olesea was learning in.

This is a monument to all those who died in the wars. On those stones are inscriptions with the names of wars which took lifes of many people.

Christmas and the New Year

Well, Christmas came to Europe but not to Moldova. Here people don't celebrate Christmas on December 24. They celebrate it on January 6. And that wonderful tree is attribute of the New Year and gifts are given to the New Year.

Here we've prepared cards for my owner Michele and her daughter.

Then we lighted candle.

Here's Christmas or New Year tree =)

And we also lighted bengal lights!

Again with it.

Moldovan Wells

When you travel somewhere in Moldova you often meet wells on your way. They allow those thursty to drink water and continue their travel. I decided to show you 2 wells.

This one is new. It's built on the place where the old one was. You may see those long stick. Earlier they helped people to get water from wells.

Around Chisinau by the car

Hello!
I know you all are waiting for new photos from me =) I've travelled around the capital of Moldova, Chisinau. I took many photos. We decided to go for a trip around the city by the car. Here's the car I've travelled with.

First of all Olesea showed me local airport. We both guess Michele is happy to see it =) In my back you see airport and the monument near it - plane which is going to fly.

Here you see the whole plane. Do you like it? This monument is the one of new monuments. It appeared here just few years ago.

Chisinau airport is situated beyond the city. So, we had to go back to Chisinau after we saw it. In my back you see city gates. They are still far away from us. They welcome every visitor.

Here you see one part of city gates and cars which go to the city.

We are closer to the city...

We almost enterd it!!!

Here we decided to take many photos and just show you some views. Not every building on these photos is historical or really important. Here you see houses people live in.

This photo is showing the one of the roads in Chisinau.

In my back you see houses and also there's a picture of Moldovan National Emblem.

This photo shows hotel called Cosmos. This hotel was built in the times of Soviet Union.

On this photo you see Railway station. It's the only railway station in Chisinau. All the trains coming to Chisinau come to this place. Both local and international.

Here you see Moldtelecom building. Thanks to Moldtelecom there work all telephones in Moldova :)

This is theatre called in honour of M.Eminescu. M.Eminescu is great Moldavian poet. His masterpiece is called "Luceafarul".

Here you see Science Academy. It's place where all moldavian scientists work.

This is old building in the city center. At the moment there's shop.

On the left side you see new building. There will be offices.

This is church.

Again that church.

Another church

This building is called Primaria. Here work Chisinau powers

This is the main square in the Republic. You see Tree in the middle of it. That will be the main Christmas tree of Moldova this year.

This is National Palace. Here many concerts take place.

In my back you see monument. It's the greatest ruler in the whole history of Moldova. He is on also depicted on money. And the main street in Chisinau is called in his honour.

This is old building. In 19th century there was something like school for boys. Nowadays there's Museum of History of Moldova.

This is Opera theatre.

This is "Bucuria" - the biggest sweet producer in Moldova. "Bucuria" - that's Romanian word which means "happines". So those weets should bring happiness to people.

"Bucuria" New Year adverticement.

And this is troleybus. It's usual transport in Chisinau.

Village Gratiesti

I'm travelling around Moldova. Photos from Chisinau, where I stay, come later. Now about my short trip to Gratiesti. If you look on the photo attentively you see in my back that village. It's typical Moldovan village. There are no any attractions. We went there because it was good weather and there's lake near the city. I've seen typical Moldovan landscape. Hills, hills, hills...

On the next photo you see the lake near Gratiesti. Olesea told me that last winter it was really cold in Moldova and on the lake you see in my back even cars drove! It was something like rally on the ice!

Fortunately Moldova is friendly to me and the weather is so nice!!! It's already November 16 and it's about +15C. That's so great outside!

I meet Funtik

I knew that Olesea has little guinea pig who is called Funtik. Michele gave me some sweets for him. I decided I should give them to Funtik as soon as I meet him and see if he likes them.

Our meeting was great! I like my new friend! And he also likes me. He even kissed my leg!!! I offered him sweets and he seems to be interested in trying them.

Wow! He likes them! I'm so happy! Thank you Michele! Now we see each other every day and we play a lot. So, I found new friend!

My first day in Moldova

When I arrived to Moldova it was already evening. It was rainy and really cold evening. I was very tired after all those long hours in the bus. Fortunately, I was taken to a warm appartment where I was hosted very nice. You guess that I was hungry. I was given fried potatos, meat and as a dessert - peach yoghurt.

Then I run to computer to write Michele about my arrival. I knew she was worrying about me.

Olesea asked me to help her with that "Little garden" I brought to her. I showed her how it should be. We both hope soon there appears green grass.

After that long day I went to bed. I was sleeping with many other Teddy bears. It was so nice. I was feeling like home...

Arrived!

I have reached my destination fast and safely. I had to spend only one night in the bag. In the evening hours I reached Chisinau and already met Funtik, Olesea´s guinea pig. Photos are coming soon!

Everyone was happy to see me and I also brought many presents to my new friends. Everything arrived safely!
